UPDATED OFFICE POLICIES & PROCEDURES

In an effort to provide a safe environment for our patients and team members, as well as comply with governing body regulations, we are implementing the following:

 

1)         All appointments have been rescheduled. Reminders for May, June and July appointments have been sent via text, email or phone call. We have rescheduled almost 900 appointments. If you did not receive a reminder or have a conflict with your new day/time, please contact us. Unfortunately, available appointment times are very limited.

 

2)         When you arrive at the office for your rescheduled appointment, one of our team members with appropriate PPE will come out to greet you at your car. If no one greets you in a timely manner, please text 225.636.0048 with patient name and vehicle.

 

3)         We will need each patient to complete a brief health questionnaire, informed consent, and temperature check at their car. Anyone with a fever or symptoms will be asked to reschedule their appointment.

 

4)         Please brush before you arrive for your appointment. Our toothbrush station is closed. We will be asking you to wash your hands at the brushing station upon entry and exit of our building.

 

5)         To limit foot traffic and comply with social distancing orders, we are only allowing the patient to enter the building. We will call parents to schedule the next appointment and give an update of what was done at this appointment.

 

6)         As always, we follow OSHA guidelines for infection control. In addition to our already stringent disinfecting and sterilization procedures, you will see an increased use of personal protective equipment.

 

7)         Sadly, at this time, we are going to pause our Carlton Reward program to limit hand to hand contact of the cards. Once our new protocols become second nature, we will happily reinstate it.

Update  April 24, 2020

 

We are happy to announce that we will be back in the office on Monday, April 27th to start the task of contacting all patients about their next appointment and our necessary office policy/procedure changes due to regulations by our governing bodies. In order for us to efficiently get in touch with all patients, we will not be answering our regular office phone next week. We are asking for the week of April 27-May1 that you continue to call/text us at 225.603.0048 or email us at [email protected] if you have an emergency/question/concern.

 

Our goal is to start seeing patients on Monday, May 4th. If you had/have an appointment from March 17-May 29, we will be contacting you to reschedule. We will be rescheduling everyone in the order in which they were originally scheduled. We are working hard on our end, and will be adding extra days/extended hours in effort to get everyone seen as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this unprecedented time!

 



Update  April 9, 2020

 

Previously, the Louisiana Department of Health prohibited non-essential dental procedures from March 18 until at least April 16. This has now been extended until at least April 30.  As a result, our office continues to remain closed. If you are have an emergency that is causing pain, Dr. Carlton will be available to tend to your needs.  Please call or text her at 225.636.0048 so she can discuss with you.

 

We will likely be back in the office starting Monday,  April 27th to start the task rescheduling ALL patients. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these changes. We will work hard to keep everyone updated on any potential future guidance from the Louisiana Department of Health.

Update  April 7, 2020

We are excited to announce that Carlton Orthodontics now has virtual appointments
available for our patients! We miss you and are excited to use this awesome technology to check on your orthodontic progress during our office closure! For anyone who had an appointment scheduled March 17 through April 16, please go to 
www.orthoscreening.com and use the code TXW3MP.  You will be prompted to input your information as well as upload photos of your smile and bite. The photos are better in quality if someone takes them for the patient, as well as if the patient uses spoons as cheek retractors instead of their fingers. Once you have uploaded everything, it will send your information via a secure link to Dr. Carlton. She will evaluate your case and send you a report with feedback and suggestions to
keep your treatment plan on track as much as possible. Please email or text us if you have any questions! Dr. Carlton is looking forward to “seeing” you soon!



Update March 17, 2020

 

As per the Louisiana Department of Health and the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry, all routine, non-essential dental procedures are prohibited beginning March 18, 2020 until at least April 16, 2020. If you are having an emergency, Dr. Carlton will be available to tend to your needs. Please call or text her at 225.636.0048 so that she can assess your needs.

 

Our team will reassemble the second or third week of April to communicate with you about rescheduling your appointments. Our plan, for the time being, will be as follows:

 

ALL appointments will be pushed back exactly 5 weeks. Your appointment time and day of the week will remain the same. Only the date will change. Once our team reconvenes, you will receive an email, text message and/or phone call reflecting this change.  You will also receive another email, text message and/or phone call confirming your appointment 24 hours prior to your newly scheduled appointment. We understand that some patients may have conflicts that arise for their newly scheduled appointment. We will handle those as they arise.
